Final 2025 Newsletter

Happy end of 2025, everyone!

Here’s what we were up to in October, November, and the start of December:

In October, we received £2,787.32 in donations from 96 contributors and we spent £2,714.08. In November, we received £1,852.48 in donations from 41 contributors and we spent £2,928.32. Special thanks to the Cardiff Met Students’ Union for fundraising for us through their quiz night at Black Lion Llandaff and to Lone Worlds through their amazing Trans Prom!

In case you missed them, here are our finance reviews for August: https://bsky.app/profile/transaid.cymru/post/3m3ougkkylh26, September: https://bsky.app/profile/transaid.cymru/post/3m3ywctxzru2l, October: https://bsky.app/profile/transaid.cymru/post/3m5elrxpdfw2t, and November: https://bsky.app/profile/transaid.cymru/post/3makunzaaf72i

We ended October with such a fun event at Cathays Community Centre. Many, many thanks to everyone who joined us at Fearfair on the 31st for soooo much cool music and art from local artists!!

As always, we had an absolute blast at our Swim & Gym events! Thanks to everyone who joined us in our last few swim and gym events of the year! We’ll be bringing these back twice a month in 2026! As a reminder, swimmers are welcome to swim without a swim top. We have access to a full gym, as well. As always, many thanks to Not a Phase for collaborating with us on these events!

We’ve also been having a lovely time at our hobby meetups! Many thanks to all of our attendees – we’re glad to see these events taking off! These will also continue into 2026. Keep an eye on our Instagram or reach out to us if you’d like to join us in the future. Don’t forget – we have snacks and drinks to share at these!

Just a small update for the research project Dan is leading in an effort to improve access to gender affirming care and services across Cymru – they have now received ethics board approval and are allowed to start recruiting! They’re especially wanting to include intersex people, trans femme people, and people of the global majority!

If you’ve been around us for a while, you know that we take off a couple weeks at the end of the year for our staff to rest. We did have some funding to support two administrators this year, but the majority of their work and all of the work from the rest of our team is entirely volunteer-based. Our staff will be away from 22nd December until 12th January. We’ll have a double round of grants on 15th January as we’ll be missing the round on the first. Note: this means emergency grants are also on pause over our break as we won’t have staff to process the requests. We’re excited to have a much-needed rest and get back to doing great things in the new year.

That’s all for this year. Keep taking good care of yourselves and each other, and we’ll see you again when we return from break!

In solidarity,

Your TAC Team
