Happy December! Here’s what we were up to in November –
We received £1,291.08 in donations from 85 contributors and we spent £4,575.60. We have £9,282.87 left in our main pot, £1,789.55 left of our Homes For Us Grant, and £2,995.00 left of our Consortium Devolved Nations Fund Grant.
Speaking of funds, please note that we are accepting applications for our grants! You can apply here: https://opencollective.com/transaidcymru/expenses/new Worried about having enough food? We can help there, too! Check out our meal share scheme here: https://transaid.cymru/our-projects/
On 8th November, we had our final Big Splash event of the year! These events are always a blast and allow us as trans, intersex, and nonbinary people to have a space to swim or use a gym. Transmasc and nonbinary adults (ages 18+) are welcome to swim without a swim top. We were also able to share some gym time! These are usually held on the second Friday of each month. Of course, another big shoutout to @NotaPhaseOrg for supporting this event! We’re excited to have you join us in 2025!
Speaking of which, we need your help! We are collecting data about how our swim events and grants affect the lives of TIN people so that we can apply for funding to keep them going strong. In exchange for about 5 minutes of your time, you can enter to win £100! If you’ve ever attended one of our Big Splash events, please complete this survey: https://forms.gle/Wwq1qaDvhMyogJqy5. If you have received a grant from us, please complete this survey: https://forms.gle/LqeJ1p24N3Yhv7GK6. Both surveys are due by Thursday, December 12th.
Thank you so much to everyone who has responded to our calls for volunteers! We’re now in the process of onboarding everyone and building up our capacity again. We’re super excited for 2025! That said, TAC will be taking our usual annual break from 17th December through 2nd January. Please note that we’ll have a DOUBLE round of grants releasing on 15th January since we’ll be away for one round.
One community announcement this month: Are you a queer musician hoping to join others like you? The Cardiff Queer Orchestra meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 PM at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Finally, we have one new way to stay in touch! You can now find us on Bluesky! Follow us @transaid.cymru We’ll keep the Bluesky and the Twitter accounts parallel while we transition over.
Thank you for your continued support as we build up our team! We’ll be back next month with our next update.
In solidarity,
Your TAC Team
