THE GUNK ZINE CLUB

Are you trans, non binary, intersex or a keen ally? Well if that is you then join us for a fun filled hour of zine-making!

We’ll kick off with a brief introduction to zines with plenty of examples to get you inspired. Then we’ll have a quick warm up activity we can all do together to get started and help you explore whatever materials you’ve chosen (paint, typing, pasta drawing?.. get creative!) Finally, the majority of the workshop will be time to spend on one of three activities. These will give options for people of all abilities and will ensure there is the opportunity to cater the workshop to what YOU want to do! Perhaps it will be therapeutic to explore yourself and your identity? Maybe you have a political statement you want to make? Or why not just have fun?! With zines – anything goes!

Miles is the guy behind GUNK Illustration! He’s an award-winning Scottish illustrator who creates bold, punky, mixed-media illustrations in both still and moving image.

We have uploaded a recording of this workshop that you can watch right here! We have also attached below the booklet all attendees were sent out and the presentation Miles made!

Budgeting for Beginners

Join Sammy as they show us how to set up a budgeting spreadsheet! Beginner-friendly and great for helping manage your finances. They go through different ways of managing your budget, apps that can be used and where you can cut down on costs.

Queer Cymru

This workshop will explore queer figures from Welsh history and how we can create a new queer approach to Welsh traditions. Welsh people have always had a strong connection to their history, heritage and landscape but as a queer person living in Wales it can be difficult to see yourself represented within that. This workshop aims to forge stronger connections between queer people living in Wales and Welsh history, tradition and landscape through creative and performative games and exercises.

Stick it to them!

In this workshop, we had an hour and a half of stickering fun! We spoke to N3KO and West Queer Art about how they make their stickers and where their inspiration came from! Gathering all the tips that people talked about through the session, we built a resource guide that you can download below! It includes how to print at home or print at a studio!
